CHARLOTTE – As you know the tax season started on January 23, 2023 instead of January 15, 2023, which is the traditional start date, in honor of Martin Luther King’s birthday. Tax season will end on April 18th, 2023 instead of the traditional January 15th in leu of Emancipation Day being celebrated in Washington.
The IRS is claiming to issue refund within a 21-day period. I inform all of my clients to look for their refund between 8 – 21 days. Granted the tax return doesn’t have a blemish that will prevent it from being accepted.
